how to: make a radio show in 2 days

I truly believe it’s better to make something shitty than make nothing at all, so here’s a link to my imperfect radio show :)

This week I set out on a mission to create a radio show on Spotify. I had this idea a while ago and just wanted to get it out of my head. When I started this project, it was going really smoothly. My first step was to make a playlist of the songs I wanted to include. Then, I wrote a quick script of what I wanted to say in between the songs and recorded that on voice memos.
After that, the process definitely slowed a bit. I kept looking for ways to upload / integrate the audio I recorded with the music I’d chosen, but Spotify just does not want you to do this I guess.
They used to have a “Music + Talk” feature that allowed you to do just this. You could upload the clips and then choose which songs you wanted to play where. BUT then they cancelled this feature to focus on other things that were more profitable. No fun.
This definitely caused a set back in the process, but I still wanted to figure out how I could make it work. The best I could do was start a podcast account, upload all the audio clips as full podcast episodes, then separately add each to a playlist in order. Definitely a bit painstaking and I’m not sure how it will show up on Spotify, but it’s done.
Timeline of this project:
Had the idea in fall 2025
Did nothing for months and months
Took less than 6 hours over the course of 2 days to make from start to finish
I wanted to include a timeline because it's so easy to procrastinate creative projects like this. But if you just set aside time to work on it, it usually doesn’t take as long as you think. ALSO if I knew anything about audio editing, garageband, or making a podcast it would've taken half the time.
